Resignation from NGRBA Dated : 10th March, 2012 To, Respected, Dr. Man Mohan Singh Prime Minister of India & Chairman, NGRBA Sir, We are sending this letter of resignation as we are deeply concerned and worried about the fast deteriorating health condition of Prof. G.D. Agarwal (now Swami Gyan Swarup Sanand) , an eminent scientist who served with distinction at IIT, Kanpur and Central Pollution Control Board. He has been consistently campaigning for several years to save the Holy River Ganga. He had undertaken fast on January 14, 2012 and has even stopped taking water from 8th March, 2012. He is at present sitting at the bank of Ganga at Varanasi. His health is extremely critical. We have been requesting the Government to immediately intervene but no action has been taken so far. We sincerely feel that any further delay and lack of response from the Government may result in grave tragedy which will be unpardonable. राजस्थान के कई शहरों में लोगों को 24 घंटे पानी देने की तैयारी की जा रही है. मगर कहने में अच्छी लगने वाली यह योजना कार्यान्वयन के स्तर पर खामियों से भरी है. नीतिगत धांधलियों के चलते पानी के बाजारीकरण को ही समाधान मान लेना जवाबदेही से बचने का रास्ता अख्तियार करने जैसा है. साभार: तहलका हिंदी खबर 24X7. बैंकिंग 24X7. पिज्जा 24X7. और अब इसी तर्ज पर राजस्थान के कई शहरों में 24 घंटे और सातों दिन पानी पिलाने का दावा किया जा रहा है. यह दावा राज्य सरकार के उस जलदाय विभाग का है जो आज तक लोगों को 24 घंटे में से बामुश्किल दो घंटे भी पानी नहीं पिला पाया. विभाग की मानें तो उसने पीपीपी यानी जन-निजी साझेदारी के जरिए 24 घंटे पानी पिलाने के लिए कमर कस ली है. मगर तहलका की पड़ताल बताती है कि विभाग ने अपनी कमर जनता का पानी कंपनियों के हाथ सौंपने के लिए कसी है. असल में राजस्थान की मरु धरा पर धाराप्रवाह पानी पिलाने की तस्वीर दिखाना कुछ और नहीं बल्कि 24 घंटे पानी पर मनमानी का रास्ता साफ करने की एक कवायद है.  उन कंपनियों के लिए जिन्हें इसका ठेका मिलेगा. देश के भी

मध्य प्रदेश के मुरैना में अवैध खनन माफिया के हाथों मारे गए 32 वर्षीय नौजवान आईपीएस अफसर नरेंद्र कुमार का अंतिम संस्कार आज मथुरा में उनके पैतृक गांव लालपुर में कर दिया गया. मुखाग्नि उनकी पत्नी ने दी. उनकी पत्नी मधुरानी भी आईएएस अधिकारी हैं. वो गर्भवती होने के कारण मैटरनिटी लीव पर चल रही हैं. मूलरूप से उत्तर प्रदेश के मथुरा जिले के रहने वाले नरेंद्र ने अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनीवर्सिटी से पढ़ाई की थी. 2009 बैच के आईपीएस नरेंद्र कुमार, मध्य प्रदेश के मुरैना जिले में एसडीओपी के पद पर तैनात थे. उनकी हत्या मुरैना के बानमौर इलाके में हुई है. गुरुवार को दोपहर तीन बजे नरेंद्र इस इलाके में अवैध खनन की सूचना मिलने पर निरिक्षण करने पहुंचे थे. उन्होंने एक ट्रैक्टर को अवैध पत्थर ले जाते हुए देखा. नरेंद्र ट्रैक्टर का पीछा करते हुए उसके आगे जाकर खड़े हो गए. अपनी गाड़ी से उतर नरेंद्र ने ट्रैक्टर को रुकने का इशारा किया. लेकिन अवैध पत्थर ले जाने वाला ट्रक ड्राइवर इतना बेखौफ था कि उसने नरेंद्र पर ट्रैक्टर चढ़ा दिया. नरेंद्र ट्रैक्टर के पहियों के नीचे आ गए. प्रदेश के गृह मंत्री उमा शंकर ग

By Adnan Abidi/Reuters  Israeli water experts express interest in tackling the Ganges River rehabilitation project in India.  India’s 2,510-kilometer Ganges – or Ganga – River provides spiritual and cultural sustenance to the half a billion people who dwell along its banks and is holy “Mother Ganga” to most Hindus, yet its waters are among the most polluted in the world. “Many people say Ganga was brought to this earth for a special purpose,” Prof. Vinod Tare, of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, said in Tel Aviv on Monday. Its rehabilitation must therefore occur in a delicate fashion that will not change these special qualities, he said. Tare, along with colleagues from various Indian academic institutions, was addressing Israeli water experts, innovators and investors who have expressed interest in becoming involved with the river’s decontamination, at a seminar held at the Israel Export Institute. अगणित जनों की श्रद्धा का केंद्र होने के साथ देश को समृद्धि एवं वैभव प्रदान करने वाली गंगामाता अपनी संतानों का पाप धोते-धोते विषैली होती जा रही है। जिसका जल कभी उद्गम स्थल से सागर पर्यंत शुद्ध एवं निर्मल रहता था , वह आज मार्ग के प्राथमिक पड़ावों में ही प्रदूषित हो रहा है। जिसके औषधीय गुण एवं शोधक-क्षमता को देखकर वैज्ञानिकों से लेकर विदेशी तक आश्चर्य करते थे , उसी का जल आज पीने लायक़ भी नहीं रह गया है।  राष्ट्र के लिए यह दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण बात है कि जिस गंगाजल को अब पीने योग्य भी नहीं माना जाता , पच्चीस वर्ष पूर्व तक विश्वभर के वैज्ञानिक यह देखकर हैरान थे कि गंगाजल , जल नहीं अमृत है। विश्व में इतना पवित्रा जल केवल उत्तरी एवं दक्षिणी ध्रुव में खोजा गया। हालाँकि वैज्ञानिक यह देखकर आश्चर्यचकित हुए कि ध्रुवों के अछूते जल में भी एक वर्ष बाद कृमि दिखाई देने लगे , जबकि सौ साल बाद गंगाजल उन्हें उसी तरह शुद्ध नजर आया। लेकिन इसे नियति की विडंबना के सिवा और क्या कहें कि गंगाजल की स्वयं शुद्ध होते रहने की अद्भुत क्षमता के बावजूद आज गंगा   भारत   की सबसे प्रदूषित नदियों में से एक है। विकास की अंधी दौड
